Explore Authentic Indonesian Village - Walking Tour

The Desa Batu Layar Village Walking Tour in Lombok is a unique and immersive experience that allows visitors to explore the traditional rural life of the Sasak people, the indigenous inhabitants of Lombok. The tour takes you through the village's narrow streets, where you can see traditional houses. You can also learn about the daily lives of the villagers. Along the way, you'll be treated to traditional Sasak hospitality and refreshments, making for a truly memorable and authentic experience.

The village neighbours a tropical forest which has the most stunning scenery, going from the narrow busy streets of the village into the forest is an amazing experience. You wont believe how beautiful it really is until you see it for yourself!

Our walking tour takes you through the alleys of Batu Layar village and onto the edge of a lush tropical forest.

You will meet your guide at Masjid At. Taqwa then you will set off on your tour through the village. As you make your way through the village, you will be greeted by the locals, they love to talk to visitors and learn all about them, especially the children.

There will be stops along the way where you will meet the elders of the village and visit a traditional kitchen where traditional coconut brew and brown palm sugar are made and you will be treated to a Kopi Lombok. 

After making your way through the bustling village, you will enter the breathtaking scenes of the tropical forest where you will see how the sap for the palm sugar is collected. 

You will then make your way to out walking tour at our house for a traditional Lombok meal. We will also stop off at some elders along the way for Lombok kopi.

Your tour will last for approximately 2.5 - 3 hours (1.5 - 2 hours of walking).
